Camera deals at Radio Shack

The latest Radio Shack circular has deals that are good until November 10, 2007. As always with brick and mortar stores, they are not the lowest prices around, but they are down the street from you, and the sales support the local economies (to a certain extend).

The spotlight deal is the Casio EX-Z75 with a 512mb SD card (how generous) at $180. The Z75 is a stylish compact camera with a 7mp 1/2.5" sensor and the typical 3x optical zoom lens.

For an even lower price, the Samsung S730 is at $110 and includes a free 512mb memory card instantly with purchase. Not bad for a basic P&S camera. Keep in mind that a similar verison of this camera, the Samsung S73, has been recently and quietly released. The S73 goes for $130, in a blister pack, not the traditional camera box, and costs $130, without a free memory card.

Next up for $10 more, the Olympus FE-210, with a free 256mb xD card, another basic P&S camera but with AA and 2.5" LCD as well.

If you are brave enough, you can try the GE E850, which looks promising on paper at $150, with an 8mp sensor, 5x optical zoom starting at 28mm wide (the cheapest wide zoom, with the Fuji F480 a close second), and a big 3" LCD, and a 512mb SD memory card. Since this is a brand new line of cameras, be sure to check for user and professional reviews first.

And while the above cameras are reasonably priced, the Fuji S700 (aka S5700) is listed a very high price of $230, and the 1gb Sandisk SD card that is included for free does not make up the difference. You can get this under $200 from a number of reputable online dealers.

On the accessories front, we have some interesting things price-wise.

Four different Targus accessories are on sale: A universal metal memory card case for two is on sale for $3, while a four card case is $5. LCD screen protectors are $5 for a 4-pack. And a mini 6" table tripod is just $6. while a 58" tripod with a fluid head is $20.

If you are looking for an alternative way to access your SD cards, they have a hi-speed 2.0 USB SD memory card reader for $10. There's also a different model for Memory Stick Duos. It does not mention whether the SD version is compatible with SDHC or not.

Another creative in the memory card world is a 3-in-1 card kit that allows you to use a mini-SD card in a micro-SD drive or a regular SD drive using the included adapters. The kit with a 1gb mini SD card included is $20, while the one with a 2gb mini SD card is $35. These things are really tiny!

And some memory card deals, a 4gb Sandisk SDHC is $45, while a 4gb MS Pro Duo is $60. Also from Sandisk, a 1gb type M xD card is $25, and a 2gb is $40. The SD equivalents are $15 and $25 respectively.

And some AA battery specials, a 30-minute Radio Shack branded charger with 4 AA and 4 AAA batteries included goes for $30. This is Radio Shack product code 23-1305. Unknown: I do not know if these are pre-charged batteries that retain their charge over time or not.

If you prefer a turtle-speed charger that doubles as a night light, they have one for you for $10. This includes 2 AA batteries and can charge 2 or 4 AA or AAA batteries. The ad says this charger won't overcharge.
