Monday morning digicam deals at Amazon

While the big discounts perhaps won't come until January 2008, it still doesn't mean there won't be some nice or at least decent deals before then. So let's take a look at what's moving on up at Amazon!

Kodak's new 12 megapixel camera, the Kodak V1253 is dropping in price slowly but steadily, now at $250. That's just over $20 per megapixel ;-)

And we now have our first giant bundle from Calumet cameras for $340: Nikon Coolpix P5100 12.1 Megapixel Digital Camera with 3.5x VR Optical Zoom + High Speed 2.0 USB SecureDigital Card Reader + Spare EN-EL5 Battery for Nikon + Digital Camera Case.

Two slightly older models are at tempting prices, the Samsung NV3 at $200 and the Fuji Z5fd chocolate brown at $143.

The Samsung S730 is now approaching the magic $100 mark. It is currently just above that, at $107.

Get a piece of HP history! The HP MZ67 is now $141. HP is going to outsource their digital cameras to a 3rd party. Basically the only HP thing in their cameras will be the brand name.

An all-around LiIon based camera of interest is the Pentax M40 for $162.

The lovely Pentax K100D Super, body only, is $357 after a $100 Pentax mail-in rebate. Not bad for a DSLR with sensor-shift stabilization and compatibility to millions of K-mount lenses, from the prehistoric to the new SWD lenses!

And a giant lens bundle from Cameta Cameras for $698: Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR [Vibration Reduction] DX Lens + Hoya 72mm UV Haze Protector Glass Filter + CapKeeper Lens Cap Strap + 6-Piece Cleaning Kit. Only thing missing is a jar of vasoline for those special soft focus "Barbara Walters" portraits ;-)

Meanwhile the Olympus E510 with two lens kit is now $661. That's right a DSLR with sensor-shift stabilization and the two new (smaller) kit lenses that realize the potential of smaller size promised by 4/3rds when it launched a few years ago!

A slight price drop again for the Canon 5D with the EF 24-105 USM IS L series lens. Now the price is $2889.

Everything Else
Jumping on the HDTV bandwagon, the Kodak EasyShare HDTV Dock is $80 from a 3rd party seller.

Forget digital! How about a medium format with flash for $50? Lomography Holga 120 CFN

And this concludes this installment! If you find any of these deals good enough to purchase, please consider tipping us by making your purchase through the blog!
