Happy New Year! Did you buy a camera in 2008? :-)

We take our first look at Amazon in 2008 looking for deals you might like!

At $25, thru RitzCameras, you can play Gandalf with the Quantaray - QSX Compact Monopod by Sunpak.

At $160, thru 17th Street Photo, you can play Master of the Nikon Universe, with the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 Software Full Version for Nikon DSLR Cameras.

At $39, you can feed your Pentax K10D DSLR with the Pentax D-LI50 Lithium-ion Battery from Cameta Caemras.

Also from Cameta, at $2000 you can get the Nikon D200 with the popular 18-200 f3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX zoom lens. This is a bit of a combined discount since the D200 body only is around $1400, and the lens alone is over $600.

For about 20 times less, at $110, you can get the matte brown Nikon L11. Are 20 L11 Coolpixies better than one D200 with a 18-200 DX lens? :-)

To give Canon equal time, their Canon XL2 3CCD MiniDV Camcorder w/20x Optical Zoom is offered at $3370. Is this better than 36 L11 Coolpixies? :)

If you prefer the L15, Ritz CAmeras has a special Nikon - Coolpix L15 Digital Camera Deluxe Outfit (Black) with bonus camera case and Energizer AA NiMH batteries and charger for $129.

At $160, Tigerdirect is offering the Samsung NV7, an older cmaera without stabilization but with a 7x lens. If you are not familiar with it, be sure to check reviews and such.

AT $120 you can get the HP M637, a piece of HP history!

Down to $2800 goes the Canon 5D with the 24-105 f4 L IS USM lens.

At $150 it's a nice all around camera for the price - the Canon A570 IS. A 4x optical zoom with IS, and AA and SD/MMC and PSAM. What else can you ask at that price?

The Fuji F480 is $120 from Photoworld (who?)

Last but not least, for $50 you can get the . This is not digital! There is a 2 to 4 week delay on shipments. Are people ditching digital for film? OMG! :-)
