Sony A700 with 16-70 storms out the gate and other Amazon stories

Welcome to our evening edition of the Amazon deal watch!

First up, we have the Sony A700 with the 16-105 lens, storming out the gate at $1900, offered at that price by OneCall, Crutchfield, and J&R World. Amazon itself is on a 3 to 5 week delay on shipping this, which is why the other retailers are spotlighted ahead of Amazon on its own site.

The Canon SD40 is discounted at $160 through J&R World, but it is an older camera with an abandoned design. Not that it matters if you like it!

The hybrid Sanyo Xacti HD700 7MP MPEG-4 High Definition 720p Camcorder with 5x Optical Zoom (Red) is offered $550. Is a hybrid right for you? It's up to you decide! We blog, you decide!

Pink pink camera! The Samsung S630, pink, from J&R World is now just $90. Processing of the order takes an additional 3 to 4 days. Maybe they have to paint it pink before it ships? Just kidding of course :)

The borderline ugly HP R847 is discounted to $137 (8mp, 3x optical zoom).

Not ugly but at $225 is the Olympus Stylus 820 blue from J&R World. You may also want to take a look at the 830 because it has some sort of image stabilization.

At $200 flat is one of the first three original NV-series, the Samsung NV3. This is the folded-optics ultracompact bijou one.

At $217 the Pentax A30 may not be a bad idea! This Optio is offered by Adorama.

At $130 it's a nice deal, the 8mp 5x optical Samsung S850, black, featuring a 1/1.8"ish sensor and AA batteries. Not to be confused with the newer Samsung S85 which uses a smaller sensor.

Also from them, the Samsung L77, a more "affordable" version of the NV7, at $245. Speaking of which the origianl Samsung NV7 is cleared out at Tigerdirect for $160 :)

Meanwhile our first super bundle from Cameta in this post comes in at $500 flat and offers the Nikon D40 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera + Nikon 18-55mm AF-S Lens + Nikon SLR Gadget Bag + Transcend 4GB SDHC SecureDigital Card + USB Card Reader.

Flash! The Sigma EF-530 DG ST Electronic Flash for Canon DSLR is offered for $160 by 47th street photo, not to be confused with 17th street photo we presume.

And a couple of older Panasonics at a discounted price, the Panasonic FX12, silver for $160 and the Panasonic FX30, blue, for $200, both sold and shipped by Amazon herself.

One of the biggest bang for the buck DSLRs (if you don't object to 6mp) is the Pentax K100D Super, body only, for just $357, after a $100 mail-in rebate from Pentax herself.

While you are waiting for the Panasonic LX3, the Panasonic LX2, black, is available for just $326, tempting even the most hardcore Venus haters to get this RAW camera!

Love xD memory cards? Then consider adding the Fuji Z5fd to your subcompact arsenal, offered by Beach Camera for just $129.

Another budget camera is the Kodak V1003, with a 1/1.8" sensor, going for around $165, depending on retailer and color of body.

Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, big daddy Canon 5D, body only of course, is down to $2129. And with this "affordable" 35mm full frame DSLR we conclude tonight's edition!
