Digital cameras in this week's Staples sunday paper circular ad

With the changing of the guard and almost 100 new digital cameras so far this year, some of the older models will be found on clearance, and if you don't object to slightly older models, you can find some nice deals.

For example, the Kodak Easyshare Z712 IS is offered at $180 by Staples for the whole week. This is not a bad deal folks! This camera uses a 7mp 1/2.5" sensor, which compared to an 8mp version or the newer 10mp 1/2.33" is not a bad trade off in terms of pixel size.

The lovely Canon SD 1000 is offered at $160, but keep in mind that a new model with IS has been announced. If you have some use for IS and don't mind waiting, you may want to wait for the Canon SD1100 IS. But for a tiny boxy little camera, IS is not as important as it would be on a big zoom camera.

Sony fans have a bargain alert! The lovely Sony W55 is offered at just $130! Wowie! The biggest knock on this camera is that it uses Memory Stick Pro Duo memory cards instead of the more common SD/MMC cards. If that's not an issue, this is a BARGAIN ALERT!

Meanwhile you can say farewell to HP in style, with the HP Mz67 going out at just $130! Yep, just $130. This has a 6x optical zoom lens, but no image stabilization.

This is a good week to spend your Staples gift cards, or if you are a regular Staples shopper, you can spend your Staples reward check there.

Varioius memory cards are on sale, most notably perhaps a 2gb Sandisk card for $20. Not a super deal, but for brick and mortar $10 per gigabyte is a good rule of thumb.
