Staples camera deals (September 21 to 27)

In the land of the generics, for fifty bucks you can get a 5-megapixel Cobra camera or a camcorder, which of course doesn't have a zoom lens. Considering the price, please adjust your expectations!

On the cutesy LiIon-based compacts, we have the colorful Kodak M863 for $110, or the Casio EX-Z80 for $160, and the Sony W150 for $210 and that includes a free memory card.

Staples has a couple of Easy Rebate specials, first the Z8612 IS superzoom digital camera for $150 after a $30 Easy Rebate, and then the Pandigital 7-inch digital picture frame for $50 after a $20 Easy Rebate. The good thing with Easy Rebates is that you can submit them online, no need to mail anything. And Staples is pretty good at processing this consistently and efficiently.

For $15, you can get a 2gb Sandisk SD memory card or a microSD kit also at two gigs. For CompactFlash or Memory Stick Pro Duo, you pay an extra five dollars.
